The yew tree is an evergreen tree, which means its rich dark foliage stays on the tree all year. It produces beautiful red berries, which house its seed, but which are highly poisonous. Yew trees are often found planted in churchyards, maybe because the evergreen foliage and the long life span of these trees indicate everlasting life?
