One
of our most well-known and well loved trees, the oak can live
for hundreds of years and can grow to be one of the biggest trees
in the forest. The seeds of the oak tree are called acorns and
these can be collected from under the trees in the autumn, that
is if you can find them before the mice or deer get them! Oak
trees provide fine timber, which has been used for centuries in
the production of beautiful furniture.
